Clinical attachment in Obstetric & Gynaecology Nursing.
Description
Obstetric wards admit antenatal and postnatal patients whilst Gynaecology wards admit patient with diseases of the reproductive system.

The clinical attachment provides opportunities for the nurse to gain knowledge and skills in the current nursing practice and services in this specialty. |
Entry Criteria
- Registered General Nurse and Midwife with temporary registration with Singapore Nursing Board if hands-on required.
- Proficiency in English language.
Expected learning / learning objectives
On completion, the trainee will be able to:
- Discuss the role of the nurse in:
- Obstetric nursing
- Gynaecological nursing
- Discuss the nursing care of:
- Patients in labour
- Well and sick neonates
- Antenatal and postnatal patients
- Discuss infection control in a hospital.
- Discuss the role of the Nurse Manager in obstetrics and gynaecology.
