Gynaecological Oncology Fellowship
Objective
End-Point of training:
- To gain clinical and surgical competency in gynaeoncology
- Certification as a GynaeOncologist in their respective country
Course Contents
- Academic Programme eg. Pre-invasive Disease Module
- Practical Program eg. Cancer Surgery, Combined Cancer Clinics
- Research Project (at least one original research project and thesis)
- Special Posting - arrangement will be made for the Fellow to have the following attachments:
- Radiotherapy Department at the National Cancer Centre
- Colorectal Surgery at SGH
For Whom
Foreign/Local doctors who are interested on a subspecialty career in gynaecological oncology
Pre-requisite
- At least two years after MRCOG, MRANZCOG, M.Med (O&G) or equivalent, preferably after at least one-year attachment in a gynaecological oncology unit in their respective country
- Adequate surgical dexterity appropriate for advanced pelvic surgery
- Conversant in English
- Accreditations approved by MOH, SMC and KKH
- Basic qualities of a good clinician – responsible, compassionate and high ethical value
- Candidates will be assessed within the first 3 months and will continue with the programme if deemed suitable
Duration
- Clinical Fellowship – six to 24 months
- Clinical Observership – maximum 12 months

Pre-Invasive Disease Fellowship
Objective
End-Point of Training:
- To complete and obtain certification for the Basic Colposcopy Recognition Course (BCRC)
- To complete and obtain certification for the LEEP/Laser Surgery
- To complete the academic and practical syllabus for the Fellowship programme

- Academic programme eg. Basic Colposcopy Recognition Course Syllabus
- Practical programme – Clinical & Procedural Skills eg. Colposcopy & biopsies
- Research Project (at least one research project)

Clinical Preceptorship in Gynaecological Oncology
Objective
It provides overseas candidates with a first-hand experience of the practice of gynaecological oncology in a subspecialty center. It is a short-term attachment where preceptees will be able to assist in gynaecological cancer surgery, participate in clinical rounds, observe in clinics and participate in tumour boards and related clinical meetings. The underlying concept is one of clinical guidance, close supervision and academic teaching. The programme does not lead to any formal certification. It is only for foreign applicants.
Course Contents
The academic programme, practical programme are same as in the full Gynaecological Oncology Fellowship except:
- Brief exposure over two weeks only
- Research project optional
For Whom
- Foreign advanced gynaecological trainees who wish to undergo a short attachment prior to deciding on a subspecialty career in Gynaecological Oncology
- Foreign gynaecologic oncologists who wish to update their knowledge and practice
