Objective
The fellow is expected to
- Attend to daily ward rounds and attend to consult cases
- Present cases at Grand Round and Tumour Board Meeting
- Participates in journal club on haematological and oncology topics
- Attends local workshop on childhood cancer
- Laboratory works like bone marrow reading
Course Contents
Teaching Programme
- Daily ward rounds and consults in managing paediatric haematological and oncology cases
- Grand round every Wednesday, from 10:30 to 11:30. Team consists of oncology nurses, doctors, pharmacist, CCR research assistant, ID physicians and surgeon if needed All inpatients oncology and haematological cases are discussed. Problematic cases outpatients are also discussed. BMT pts scheduled are discussed on last Wednesday of the month.
- Psycho-social round - first Wednesday of month, from 10:00 to 11:00.The team consists of MSW from Hospital, CCF, nurse representative from Assissi Home and Hospice and palliative physician together with oncologist nurses and doctors. The meeting addresses social and psychological issues.
- Tumour Board Meeting (Combined KKH and NUH) - third Wednesday from 13:00 to 14:30
- Brain Tumour Board - third wednesday April, August, November (three times a year) 13:00 to 14:30
- Journal Club/Research activities - second/fourth Wednesday, from 11:30 to 12:00
- Attachment to laboratory like haematology laboratory in SGH for bone marrow slide reading and flow cytometry and cytogenetic laboratory in KKH can be arranged
- Paediatric dept teaching - morbidity, mortality and CICU rounds, journal rounds and hospital conference

Pre-requisite
Candidates must be medical graduates from recognized medical schools as determined by the Singapore Medical Council or a degree that can be registered by the Singapore Medical Council.
Success of the fellowship application is also contingent on approval by the Singapore Medical Council for a temporary medical practising license.
