Children's Travel Clinic

Travelling with a child presents unique challenges to every parent. You can make your next trip a more positive and enjoyable experience for the entire family if you adopt certain precautionary measures before and when you travel.

The Children's Travel Clinic offers these services for both children and parents:

Pre-Travel

  • Vaccination / Immunisation
    • Catch up with routine childhood immunisations if delayed
    • Recommendations for travel vaccines
  • Evaluation for fitness for travel
    • You will be asked regarding any underlying disease conditions and suitability for travel
  • Malaria prevention and chemoprophylaxis
    • For travel to countries with endemic malaria, prevention of malaria will be advised
  • Food and water hygiene advice
  • Travel Kit
    • Advice on essential items to include in the travel kit

Post-Travel Evaluation / Treatment

On your return from your trip, booster vaccinations that are required will be given.

If you develop symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, rashes or jaundice, you should return to The Children's Travel Clinic at KKH to be evaluated and treated for travel-related infectious diseases.

International Adoption

Parents who wish to adopt overseas children can bring their adopted children for routine childhood vaccination, screening for medical illnesses and infectious diseases, as well as developmental assessment.
