Children's Intensive Care
 
The Children's Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bedded multidisciplinary ICU that cares for children who require intensive medical, surgical and post-surgery care.
 
Level 2, Children's Tower

It is equipped to provide advanced treatment modalities and is staffed by full time intensivists.

Nursing staff are trained in the care of ICU patients and the service is complemented by access to a wide range of medical and surgical subspecialities.

It also runs the regional Children's Hospital Emergency Transport Service (CHETS).

The CHETS team can travel by road and air to the bedside of any child requiring their services, stabilise the child's condition and then provide a safe transfer back to KK Hospital. In transit, the team is able to provide an extensive range of mobile ICU services to ensure that the child arrives in the best possible condition.
