The Medical Social Work Department plays a multi-faceted role as counsellor, mediator and facilitator for patients and their families. It organises and facilitates support groups for couples seeking fertility treatment, female cancer patients and their families, diabetic children and their families, and the parents of premature babies.

The department is also committed to the management of child abuse cases through risk assessment and collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development and Sports, and other relevant authorities and agencies.
