| With 24 beds, this is the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Singapore. The hospital's perinatal mortality rate of 4.6 per 1,000 live births and neonatal mortality rate of 1.99 per 1,000 live births are on par with those of leading centres in the world. |

The NICU is run by an experienced team of neonatologists and nurses specially trained in neonatal care. Neonatologists are pediatricians with special expertise in caring for newborns.
The NICU team provides support to the obstetric team by attending high risk deliveries in the Delivery Suite and operating theatre. It is the only unit which has a 'resuscitation' nurse assigned to assist the neonatologist in resuscitating sick babies in the delivery suite and operating theatre and transporting the baby to NICU.
Parents with premature babies can draw emotional and social support from the Early Bird Club, a support group. | |

Children's Hospital Emergency Transport Service
As part of the Children's Hospital Emergency Transport Service (CHETS), the neonatologists and NICU nurses provide emergency evacuation and transportation for babies within and outside Singapore.
The service receives referrals from private hospitals and other tertiary hospitals for further management of babies requiring specialised treatment such as surgery for diaphragmatic hernia, necrotising enterocolitis, abdominal surgical conditions, or heart conditions. |
