The Obstetric Day Assessment Centre has evolved into an outpatient alternative for women with complicated pregnancies and hypertensive and/or diabetic patients. These patients would previously have required hospitalisation. Now they receive the same high standard of obstetric care while enjoying the benefits of an outpatient status, such as no hospitalisation costs and reduced disruption to their work, family and social lives.

For hypertensive and / or diabetic patients, they now receive an extensive evaluation and self-help management guidelines.
