KK Hospital is the national tertiary referral centre for paediatric bone marrow transplants and children's open heart surgeries. It is also the country's major tertiary referral centre for high-risk pregnancies, gynaecological cancer, menopause and urogynaecological problems.
There are altogether 12 operating theatres (OT), with 4 of them specially outfitted for paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, paediatric general surgery, obstetric emergency, minimally invasive surgery, and gynaecological surgery.
Surgeries done here range from the simple to the complex: from tension vaginal tape operation for stress urinary incontinence to Wertheim's Operation for women, hypospadias correction, and open heart surgery for valvular disease in children.
