Our Core Responsibilities

• Patient-Drug Management

We ensure the timely and efficient distribution of medication to in- and outpatients. Pharmacists who work with inpatients selectively follow doctors on their daily rounds to better understand the patient's condition, check on drug dosages and provide drug information to patients.

• Patient Counselling

Educational classes are conducted for asthma, gynaecological and paediatric cancer, gestational diabetes mellitus, and hormone therapy replacement patients to help them understand their conditions better and hence encourage compliance with their medication.

We also provide bedside discharge counselling to inpatients to ensure that they take their medication accurately and as scheduled when they are at home.

• Review and Dissemination of Drug Information

We review and disseminate literature to healthcare professionals to promote evidence- based drug therapy. We also educate healthcare professionals about medication-related policies and procedures, and provide advice on protocol development.

• Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation

The Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) laboratory prepares customised IV Admixtures and IV Nutrition Solutions for neonates and paediatric patients on a daily basis. Besides TPN, we also manufacture syrups which are not available commercially.

• Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Pharmacokinetic Services

We help to design patient-specific drug dosage regimens based on the pharmacokinetic and pharmacological characteristics of the medication to promote positive patient outcome. The information is then communicated to the doctors and documented on the patient's medication record.
