Range of Services:

Our Department believes in helping and empowering patients and their family to actualize their fullest potential. We aim to provide a holistic approach with a personal touch through multi-faceted roles as counselor, facilitator and advocator.

We provide the following direct services for our patients and their families both at the inpatient and outpatient level.

  • Counselling
    • Patients with emotional, relationship and marital problems
    • Patients who are anxious over their illness / treatment (e.g. cancer treatment) or undergoing losses
  • Crisis Intervention
    • Deal with trauma cases such as sexual assault, spousal violence, child abuse and attempted suicide
  • Investigation
    • Investigate cases of reported NAI (Non-Accidental Injuries) and possible neglect
  • Financial Assistance
    • Assist needy patients with their medical expenses
    • Assess and make appropriate referrals to organisations, VWOs (Voluntary Welfare Organisations), FSCs (Family Service Centre) and MCYS (Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports) for various financial and social support
  • Networking
    • Network with MCYS, FSCs, Police and other relevant organizations to obtain community support for patient
  • Participation in support groups/programmes
