Range of Services:
Our Department believes in helping and empowering patients and their family to actualize their fullest potential. We aim to provide a holistic approach with a personal touch through multi-faceted roles as counselor, facilitator and advocator.
We provide the following direct services for our patients and their families both at the inpatient and outpatient level.
- Counselling
- Patients with emotional, relationship and marital problems
- Patients who are anxious over their illness / treatment (e.g. cancer treatment) or undergoing losses
- Crisis Intervention
- Deal with trauma cases such as sexual assault, spousal violence, child abuse and attempted suicide
- Investigation
- Investigate cases of reported NAI (Non-Accidental Injuries) and possible neglect
- Financial Assistance
- Assist needy patients with their medical expenses
- Assess and make appropriate referrals to organisations, VWOs (Voluntary Welfare Organisations), FSCs (Family Service Centre) and MCYS (Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports) for various financial and social support
- Networking
- Network with MCYS, FSCs, Police and other relevant organizations to obtain community support for patient
- Participation in support groups/programmes
