Encompasses the Women's Mental Wellness Service and the Child and Adolescent Mental Wellness Service, Mental Wellness Service provides holistic and comprehensive mental healthcare to women through-out their life-cycle, as well as the emotional health needs of children and adolescents.

Women's Mental Wellness Service


The mission of the Women's Mental Wellness Service is to provide comprehensive evaluation and ongoing care to women who suffer from a spectrum of psychiatric disorders and to improve the lives of patients and families.

Clinical care will be complemented by research that will enable better-informed clinical care and dissemination of important findings that emerge across the field of women's mental wellness.

Women with the following conditions can expect to be provided with the highest level of personalised care:-

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (depression during the premenstrual period)

Psychiatric disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum ( e.g. depression, anxiety)

Psychiatric disorders related to infertility and assisted reproduction

Psychiatric disorders related to pregnancy loss (abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth)

The menopause transition and depression


Multidisciplinary Team Approach
In order to provide holistic care, a multidisciplinary team approach will be provided, as is appropriate to the needs of each individual patient.

The professionals that may be involved comprise:

  • Psychiatrist
  • Social Worker
  • Psychologist
  • Case Manager
  • Nurse Clinician
  • Occupational therapist

Additionally, the service works in close liaison with the obstetric and gynaecological specialists, paediatricians and the child mental health professionals.

Service
The Women's Mental Wellness Service is an ambulatory service, based in the outpatient specialist clinics at the Women's Tower, Level 1. We also provide liaison consultation to inpatients.

Child and Adolescent Mental Wellness Service


The Child and Adolescent Mental Wellness Service is an ambulatory and liaison consultative service to cater for internal referrals only.

For now, only internal referrals are accepted, and cases include psychiatric disorders such as :-

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Psychosomatic disorders
  • Adjustment disorders
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • and others.
