Our Programmes (For Women and Children)
Performance, Strength and Power
The Performance, Strength and Power (PSP) programme is an individually designed strength and conditioning programme that caters to both athletes and non-athletes. The programme provides a systematic and evidence-based approach to improve strength and sports-specific movement skills to facilitate return to sports and/or improve daily functional activities.
Who is eligible?
The Performance, Strength and Power (PSP) programme is suitable for both adults and children aged nine years and above, (athletes or non-athletes). Patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries or pain should be referred to a physiotherapist for therapeutic interventions before enrolling in this programme.
Programme Outline
Once referred to this programme, an entry assessment is carried out to evaluate the participant. For competitive or recreational athletes, the programme targets the seven core components for optimal sports performance. These include strength, power, speed, agility, balance, proprioception and functional core.
This programme can help optimise one’s sports performance or facilitate an athlete’s return to sports after injuries or major illnesses.
For non-athletes, the programme introduces participants to a structured strength-based training. These are helpful in improving muscle strength, balance, core stability and bone health.
All participants undergo the first two exercise sessions with individual coaching from an exercise specialist to familiarise themselves with the exercise techniques and overall programme. Thereafter, subject to the their progress, participants may continue with individual training or opt for group exercise sessions.
