Orthopaedic Surgery
Having problems with muscular aches or injuries to foot, ankle, hand or spine? These conditions often cause pain, weakness and discomfort as well as restrict physical activities and daily living.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery provides a comprehensive range of specialised care for musculoskeletal conditions and injuries in children and women. Working with a multidisciplinary team, the surgeons use the most advanced and innovative approaches and techniques to treat these conditions.
Women’s Orthopaedic Conditions:
- Osteoarthritis of the knee and hip
- Osteoporosis
- Back pain and disorders of the spine
- Hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger
- Sports injuries including degenerative articular and soft tissue conditions
Children’s Orthopaedic Condtions:
- Fractures and musculoskeletal trauma
- Scoliosis (curved spine), back pain, torticollis and other paediatric spine conditions
- Foot problems such as flatfoot and bunions
- Congenital clubfoot (congenital talipes equinovarus) and its treatment by the Ponseti method
- Sports injuries, including arthroscopic (minimally-invasive) surgical procedures for cruciate ligament injuries, meniscal tears and osteochondral and shoulder labral injuries
- Hip conditions such as developmental dysplasia of the hip, Perthes disease, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis
- The orthopaedic manifestations of neuromuscular conditions like cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and the muscular dystrophies
- Limb length discrepancy and angular deformities of the limbs
- Hand problems such as trigger finger, polydactyly (extra thumb or finger) or syndactyly (fused fingers)
- Musculoskeletal infections and tumours
- Surveillance of physiological conditions such as knock-knees, bow-legs, and in-toeing (pigeon-toed gait)

We run specialist clinics for children and women everyday from Monday to Friday.
Our surgeons accept referrals from general practitioners and government polyclinic doctors. Patients may also call in directly for an appointment.
