Ward Entertainment Programme

This programme aims to bring joy to our paediatric patients and relieve their boredom and stress. It features a variety of entertainment such as singing and music, balloon sculpturing, magic and juggling shows and mascot visits.


Role of Volunteer

You may choose to be a chaperone to our entertainers, or even perform for the children!

1. Chaperone

     Role:

  • Supervise entertainers when they visit the wards
  • Have fun and join in to cheer up a sick child!
  • Inflate balloons when needed and distribute them to the patients
  • Assist with the logistics requirements of the ward entertainment programme, e.g., open the volunteers' room to welcome entertainers and lock-up after the session
    Requirements:
  • Aged 18 and above
  • Outgoing and energetic
  • Compassionate towards the sick
  • Enjoy being with children and making them smile
  • Matured and diplomatic, and able to work independently
  • Ability to perform simple magic tricks and balloon sculpturing is a bonus
2. Performers

    Role:
  • Entertain the children with magic tricks, balloon sculpturing, singing or clowning
    Requirements:
  • Must be skilled in the respective area of entertainment
  • For singing groups, a repertoire of songs suitable for children mainly aged 1-8 and 9-14
  • Enjoy entertaining children
  • Not shy!
  • Suitable for groups of not more than 5 entertainers

Frequency:

Once a fortnight

Time:

Wednesdays, 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Saturdays, 2.00pm - 5.00pm
