Dr Quek is actively involved in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate students in management of neonatal issues and neonatal care. She is a Clinical Teacher in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. She has also been appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor Duke Graduate Medical School and is the coordinator of Neonatal Programme for Paediatric Clerkship with Duke-GMS. In 2009, Dr Quek was appointed Associate Programme Director for Paediatrics, ACGMEi. Dr Quek is also actively involved in teaching and training nurses involved in critical care nursing, neonatology and those undergoing training in midwifery.

She is involved in the training of doctors and nurses in the Dept of Neonatology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology in newborn resuscitation and is also an instructor for the Acute Resuscitation in Children (ARC) course.

Dr Quek’s sub-specialty interests include Neonatal Resuscitation, Simulation based learning, Neonatal Ventilation, Chronic Lung Disease, Borderline viability and follow-up of Very-Low-Birth-Weight infants.

Other areas of interest include Quality Assurance and Patient Safety and she is responsible for quality assurance audits in the department. She has also recently been appointed Chairman of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) focus workgroup in KKH. Apart from this, she is the co-coordinator of the Vermont Oxford Network Database where she has been involved in maintaining the database since 2006.

In addition, Dr Quek is the Honorary Treasurer in the Singapore Paediatric Society since 2008. Previously, she was the Honorary Secretary from 2006 – 2008.
