Types of Training Offered

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) offers these types of training for foreign medical doctors:

Details
Clinical Fellowship​
  • Hands-on
  • Capped at 12 months
  • Requires a Temporary Registration* with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and a valid Training Employment Pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
  • Applicants submit a letter from the government, regional health authority or appropriate institution in the home country stating support of your application and their positions are reserved till their return.
  • Processing time: at least 12 months

Hands-Off Observership​
  • ​Hands-off
  • Capped at 28 days/4 weeks
  • Requires a valid Training Employment Pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
  • Processing time: at least 6 months

​Serology Test for Recognising Overseas Vaccinations
MOH and MOM requires pass holders who were vaccinated overseas (outside of Singapore) to verify their vaccination records by visiting a healthcare provider who will:
  • Review your overseas vaccination documentation
  • Perform a serology test (if required)
  • Update your vaccination records to Singapore’s National Immunisation Registry (NIR).
​Dependent on the clinic you will be visiting.

NOTE:

  • All the above expenses and personal expenses incurred during the period of training are to be borne fully by applicant.
  • Any salary received from your employer during the period of training or stipend received from any form of funding are subjected to income tax charged by the Inland Revenue of Singapore (IRAS), if the annual total gross income is $20 000 or more. Please refer to IRAS’s website for more details on personal income tax.
