Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is the third most common mental disorder in Singapore. About 1 in 28 people living in Singapore will suffer from OCD in their lifetime.
OCD is commonly confused with perfectionism or fastidiousness. OCD is, in fact, a mental health condition that can cause much distress and serious disruption to one's life. People suffering from OCD may experience recurrent unwanted thoughts or impulses which cause significant anxiety and/or perform repetitive behaviours to suppress these thoughts or urges.
