Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF)

Synonym(s):

Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) is a Social Service Agency with a mission to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families impacted by childhood cancer through enhancing their emotional, social, and medical well-being. CCF plays a key role as a strategic partner in the delivery of holistic cancer care for paediatric patients and survivors. By supporting and collaborating with the Centre’s programmes, CCF helps ensure continuity of care and seamless access to services from diagnosis through survivorship. The unwavering support of CCF has made possible several groundbreaking initiatives that define excellence in paediatric oncology care:

The Tan Cheng Lim – CCF Professorship of Paediatric Oncology advances the practice of paediatric medicine through clinical research in childhood cancers, whilst promoting continued learning and fostering innovative medical research amongst future generations of paediatricians in Singapore.

The CCF Paediatric Oncology Survivorship Programme focuses on research into physical and psychosocial late effects of childhood cancer treatment, in tandem with the clinical service which is structured along the Children’s Oncology Group Long-Term Follow Up guidelines and houses the After Completion of Therapy Clinics (ACT) and Long-term Integrated Follow Up and Engagement (LIFE) Clinics. The clinical programme is anchored by a Long-Term Follow-Up (LTFU) nurse coordinator, paediatric oncologists and a trained hospitalist with subspecialty interest. LTFU data from the clinical programme is stored in a research database and institutional review-board approved.

The CCF Psychosocial and Supportive Care Programme delivers holistic supportive care through our multidisciplinary team, providing children with tailored interventions designed to meet their individual needs. The programme optimises emotional, cognitive, and physical outcomes through timely neuropsychosocial, rehabilitative, and nutritional care. Currently, the programme is developing a comprehensive tele-monitoring health system designed to detect early signs of psychological distress, further enhancing our ability to provide proactive support.

Through this enduring partnership, the CCF continues to champion comprehensive care that addresses not only the medical aspects of childhood cancer but also the broader needs of patients and families throughout their journey.
