Profile
Asst Prof Chandramouli completed her PhD at The University of Melbourne on examining sex differences in diabetic cardiomyopathy. Subsequently, she joined The National Heart Centre Singapore to pursue clinical research. At NHCS, she has co-authored several landmark publications on her key findings on lean diabetes, lean fat and sex differences in heart failure. She holds a concurrent Assistant Professor position at Duke-NUS Medical School.
She is also a key co-investigator in the multinational Asian Diabetes Outcome Prevention Trial (ADOPT) and serves as the youngest Trial Steering Committee and Advisory Board Member. Specifically, her role in the trial include designing, writing the protocol, applying for grants and funding, evaluating and selecting trial sites across Asia, liaising with country heads, co-investigators, project managers and clinical research organization to execute the trial.
She also serves as a Junior Member of the Board of Directors of Worldwide CardioDiabetes, a non-profit organisation. They educate health care professionals in the developing world about the relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
