Child Development
Our Department of Child Development helps children with developmental delays, speech and language delays, learning problems, behavioural problems, and autistic spectrum disorders.
Children who are diagnosed with such problems at the hospital are followed-up regularly at our intervention centres where speech therapy, occupational therapy, special educational services and psychological services are provided to help them cope and integrate into their community.
The department also runs a comprehensive outreach programme, partnering preschools and childcare centres to bring early intervention and therapy to the classroom.

Child Development Programme:
- Assessment of children with developmental and behavioural concerns
- Multi-disciplinary intervention services
- Parental guidance on child development
- Counselling and support for families of children with developmental and behavioural problems
- Liaison with schools on children with learning problems
- Placement of children with special needs for training and education
- Collaboration with Primary Health and Community Services for early identification of children with developmental and behavioural problems, to facilitate early intervention
