The Department of Child Development provides specialist diagnostic and intervention services for children with developmental, learning and behavioural difficulties. We serve children with a range of developmental issues such as:

Poor social and play skills

Emotional and behavioural difficulties

Motor skill and coordination
challenges

Speech clarity

Language delays

Developmental delays associated with medical conditions

Learning delays and disorders
These children may have developmental conditions such as:
Children who are flagged with developmental concerns will meet our paediatricians at the first consultation in KKH for a comprehensive evaluation. This may include further medical investigations such as hearing tests, blood tests, etc. Children suspected or diagnosed with the above difficulties may be offered interim therapy services at our
satellite clinics.
Children requiring longer-term intervention services are referred to appropriate community services to help them develop and integrate into the community.
