The Practice Update in Paediatrics (PUP) is an annual forum organised by the Division of Medicine at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to address contemporary questions in general paediatrics.
General practitioners / family physicians, primary healthcare practitioners and paediatricians will find this forum stimulating and educational. They will also get a chance to find out the latest updates in various aspects of paediatric medicine. This is the 12th paediatric forum and this year, we chose a perhaps unusual, but imperative theme, “Old Problems – New Solutions?” With advancement in medical treatment and improved outcomes for many paediatric conditions, we think it is timely to dedicate our forum to addressing some “old” or common issues with new perspectives or solutions.
We bring you the experts from our subspecialties to discuss the approach and specific challenges which you may encounter in your daily practice.
We look forward to your participation in this forum, and to have a comprehensive and rewarding session of knowledge sharing.

Every caregiver should know when and how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or relieve choking in a child or an infant safely, timely and effectively. When performed correctly, these skills can help save lives by restoring blood flow to the vital organs and restoring breathing until professional help arrives.
