Please come at your appointed time. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please inform your doctor at least two days in advance.
You can reach your doctor through our Call Centre Assistants at tel: +65 6293 4044 (press '0').
If you have already indicated your bed choice, please also inform our Admissions staff at tel: +65 6394 1200.
Our Admissions counters' operating hours are as follows:
- 7.00am to 6.00pm (Monday to Friday)
- 8.00am to 2.30pm (Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays)
If you need to be admitted after 6.00pm, please proceed to:

- Children's Emergency, Basement 1, Children's Tower for children
At KKH, you can choose from a selection of room types.
If you wish to stay in a single or four-bedded room during your hospitalisation, you can indicate your preference in advance at Admissions, Level 1. You can indicate your choice as soon as you know your admission date or expected date of delivery.
Our staff will give you an estimate of your hospital bill according to the room type you chose. You can also expect a brief explanation of the admitting procedures.
While we do our best to provide you with the room type of your choice, we will only be able to confirm the availability at the time of your admission. If we can’t admit you to the room type of your choice when you admit, we will transfer you to your preferred room type as soon as it is available.

If you are scheduled for surgery, you may need to undergo some routine tests prior to your admission.
If you have an existing medical condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, which may increase the risk of complications during the operation, you may be required to undergo a review at our Pre-admission Services (Basement 1, Women's Tower)
If you are taking any medications on regular basis, please bring them along in their original dispensed packaging for your doctor's review.
Where possible, we’ll try to do these tests on the same day after your clinic appointment, which is usually two weeks before the surgery.
- Pyjamas
- Undergarments
- Medicines which you are currently on (eg. for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes) in their original dispensed packaging with instruction labels.
- Slippers
- Face and bath towels
- Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap and shampoo
Hair dryers are available upon request. If you are staying in Class A or B1 rooms, you will receive a toiletry bag. You can also buy this bag at our Retail Pharmacy on Level 1.
For the safety of all our patients, kindly avoid using electrical appliances that have not been provided by the hospital. These may cause a power failure, which in turn may interrupt a procedure or treatment in other parts of the hospital.
For Obstetric Patients
Do pack your bag two weeks in advance. In addition to the items listed above, also bring:
- Two baby vests
- Two pairs of baby mittens and booties

You will most likely spend your first few hours after admission in the delivery suite. So try not to bring your bag with you, unless your spouse accompanies you. Your family can bring your bag to you when you are in the ward.
Please do not bring/use the following:
- Valuables such as jewellery or cash,
- Personal electrical equipment as they may not comply with the hospital’s safety code
- Contact lenses.
Medisave can be used to pay medical expenses incurred by the Medisave account holder and his/her immediate family members. The withdrawal limit for Medisave is SGD$450 per day for daily inpatient hospital charges and this includes a maximum of SGD$50 for doctor's daily attendance fees. For approved day surgery, the withdrawal limit for Medisave is SGD$300 per day for daily hospital charges. For surgical operations (inpatient and day surgery), there is a fixed Medisave limit according to table of surgical operations. Class B2/C wards generally do not require a deposit, unless your estimated hospital bill is above the Medisave withdrawal limit or your Medisave balances are insufficient. For those opting for Class A1/B1, a cash deposit would be necessary as Medisave would not be able to cover the full hospital bill.
If your employer or insurance company is providing coverage for your hospitalisation expenses, please present the Letter of Guarantee at least seven working days prior to your admission to the hospital. Your employer or insurance company must have an existing direct billing arrangement with KKH. KKH reserves the right and discretion not to approve the Letter of Guarantee and you will be liable for the initial payment and hospital charges. For a sample of Letter of Guarantee, please click

Once your doctor considers you fit to be discharged from hospital, our ward nurses will make the necessary arrangements. Please remember to return all hospital gowns, children’s pyjamas, baby vests and blankets upon your discharge.
The hospital's check out times are 11:30 and 17:00 for all wards. The time of discharge will be determined by doctors. For patients who are certified medically fit for home but choose to stay on in the ward beyond the discharge times, they will need to pay for the respective additional room charges.
For Obstetric Patients
Your doctor will examine your baby before you go home. You will also be advised on how to care for yourself and your baby.
We will also schedule a postnatal appointment for you to see your doctor. If you prefer, you can also follow up at the Maternal Child Health Clinics at the government polyclinics.
Your Prescription
If your doctor has prescribed medication, our pharmacists will dispense it at your bedside with appropriate instructions.
