Eltrombopag is used to raise platelet counts. It can be used to treat immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and aplastic anemia.

What side effects can

cause?
- Fatigue, Headache, Insomnia, Chills
- Itch
- Abnormal liver function test
- Diarrhea, Nausea, Abdominal pain
- Blood clots (<10%)
- Cataract (<10%)
Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
- Sign of an allergic reaction e.g. rash, itching, swollen, trouble breathing.
- Sign of urinary tract infection (UTI) like blood in the urine, pain when passing urine, urinary urgency.
- Weakness on 1 side of the body, trouble speaking or thinking, change in balance, drooping on one side of the face, or blurred eyesight.
- Signs of liver problems such as dark urine, feeling tired, not hungry, upset stomach or stomach pain, light-coloured stools, throwing up, or yellow skin or eyes.
- Signs of a blood clot such as chest pain, coughing up blood; shortness of breath; swelling, warmth numbness in the leg/arm.

, what precautions must I follow?
1. You should not take eltrombopag if you are pregnant unless recommended by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you think you are pregnant or are planning to becoming pregnant.
2. You should not breast-feed while taking eltrombopag. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breast feed.

How should
Eltrombopag
be used?
- Take on an empty stomach. Take 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals
- Take this drug at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after antacids, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Aluminum, Selenium or Zinc supplements or foods high in calcium such as dairy
products
- Swallow whole, Do not chew, break or crush
What should I do if I miss a dose?
Skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time
Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses
What should I do if I overdose?
If you overdose on this medicine, inform your doctor immediately.
