Two resource centres under the KKH-led Temasek Foundation Project ARIF (Achieving Resilient and Inspiring Families) were launched in May 2022, to improve health literacy for couples embarking on family life.
Holistic support even before marriage is the focus of Project ARIF Programme Lead,
Dr Suzanna Sulaiman. “We seek to walk with couples from pre-marital, to marriage, to when they form a family unit, and provide them targeted assistance throughout their journey,” said Dr Suzanna, who is also Head and Senior Consultant, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KKH.
Building healthy marriages and resilient families
A collaboration between KKH, Temasek Foundation and the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), couples and families can receive marital, spiritual, and health advice and counselling at the Project ARIF resource centres based in Masjid Assyafaah and Masjid An-Nur mosques, in Sembawang and Woodlands.
Couples enrolled in Project ARIF can also receive breastfeeding education and counselling services by certified lactation consultants from KKH, and advice on general health, antenatal and postnatal issues.
