To help you arrange for your admission, you will find in this section, general information on our procedures and policies. Learn about the services and facilities that we provide to make your hospital stay a comfortable and convenient experience.

Thank you for choosing KK Women's and Children's Hospital as your healthcare provider. We are committed to provide you with the best service and highest standard of medical, nursing and paramedical care. It is our goal to make your stay with us a pleasant and comfortable one.

Before Your Stay

Except for delivery and emergency cases, patients are admitted to KK Women's and Children's Hospital only on recommendation from their medical specialists from the Specialist Outpatient Clinics. Once a date for admission is confirmed, patients are accommodated and register themselves for their desired accommodation class.

Pre-Admission Services

If you are scheduled for surgery, you may need to undergo some routine tests prior to your admission.

If you have an existing medical condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, which may increase the risk of complications during the operation, you may be required to undergo a review at our Pre-admission Services (Basement 1, Women's Tower)

If you are taking any medications on regular basis, please bring them along in their original dispensed packaging for your doctor's review.

Where possible, we’ll try to do these tests on the same day after your clinic appointment, which is usually two weeks before the surgery.

Types Of Wards

The rooms in the Women’s and the Children’s wards have similar facilities. They are suitably decorated to suit the tastes of our women or child patients.

Medisave can be used to pay medical expenses incurred by the Medisave account holder and his/her immediate family members. The Medisave withdrawal limit for daily inpatient hospital charges is SGD$550 per day for the first two days and SGD$400 per day from the third day onwards. For approved day surgery, the Medisave withdrawal limit is SGD$300 per day for daily hospital charges. For surgical operations (inpatient and day surgery), there is a fixed Medisave limit according to the table of surgical operations. There is a separate withdrawal limit for Surgical Operation(s). Medisave deduction can be used for inpatient psychiatric treatment, subject to SGD$150 daily up to a maximum of SGD$5,000 per year.

The Medisave withdrawal limits for Medisave Maternity Package (MMP) are as follows: SGD$2,150 for Caesarean delivery or SGD$750 for vaginal delivery, SGD$450 per day for the daily hospital charges and SGD$900 for pre-delivery expenses.

For reversal of ligation, patient can opt to utilise her own or her spouse’s Medisave for payment (subject to withdrawal limits).
