Pre-Admission Services

Synonym(s):

Before Your Stay

Except for delivery and emergency cases, patients are admitted to KK Women's and Children's Hospital only on recommendation from their medical specialists from the Specialist Outpatient Clinics. Once a date for admission is confirmed, patients are accommodated and register themselves for their desired accommodation class.

Pre-Admission Services

If you are scheduled for surgery, you may need to undergo some routine tests prior to your admission.

If you have an existing medical condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, which may increase the risk of complications during the operation, you may be required to undergo a review at our Pre-admission Services (Basement 1, Women's Tower)

If you are taking any medications on regular basis, please bring them along in their original dispensed packaging for your doctor's review.

Where possible, we’ll try to do these tests on the same day after your clinic appointment, which is usually two weeks before the surgery.

Financial Counselling Online

Before admission, our staff at the Admissions office will provide you with an estimated hospital bill size for your surgery and hospitalisation. This is to enable you to make an informed choice of the room type based on your preference and budget. Please be informed that the estimated hospital bill size may differ depending on your actual assessed condition during your hospital stay.

You may also visit the Admissions Buddy portal, which is an online service that allows you to review your financial counselling information at your convenience. With Admissions Buddy, you can also request for a change in your preferred ward type and make online payment for deposit prior to admission.
