Dr Harikrishnan graduated with MBBS from The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University,Chennai,India. Dr Harikrishnan did anaesthesia residency training & obtained qualifications(diploma & masters) from Christian Medical College Hospital,Vellore & Madras Medical College, Chennai. After obtaining the above qualifications, he did his cardio-thoracic anaesthesia fellowship at southern railway HQs hospital, Perambur, Chennai.
Dr Harikrishnan moved to Australia in 2003 to pursue his further studies. For the first 2 years, he did intensive care medicine training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia(which is recognised by ICU college, Australia) & then he continued anaesthesia training at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia & obtained FANZCA(Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand college of anaesthetist) in 2008. After obtaining FANZCA, Dr Harikrishnan did cardio-thoracic anaesthesia & ECHO training at Royal Adelaide Hospital & Royal Perth Hospial. Dr Harikrishnan has recently completed his Masters in Clinical Ultrasond (UniMelbourne).
His clinical interests include cardio-thoracic anaesthesia,TEE, VADs, Heart & Lung transplant.
