Dr Loh Wann Jia is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Endocrinology at Changi General Hospital (CGH). She also specialises in Internal Medicine, with clinical interests in metabolic conditions, including dyslipidaemia, obesity, diabetes, and insulin resistance. Dr Loh obtained her Bachelor’s in Endocrinology from the Imperial College London in 2011 and went on to complete her Master of Medicine. Subsequently, she embarked on two overseas clinical fellowships with research components: one at the Imperial College London in 2017 and another at the Royal Perth Hospital in 2022. Dr Loh set up the Lipid clinic and service in Changi General Hospital.
Dr Loh’s primary research interests are in metabolic conditions including hyperlipidaemia, obesity, diabetes, and insulin resistance. As a primary investigator and co-investigator of multiples studies, Dr Loh has been awarded multiple research grants, with the aim of translating key research findings into clinical practice for improved patient care. Her dedication to medical research has been recognised at various research awards, such as the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Training Fund, NMRC Population Health New Investigator Grant, and Nurturing Clinician Researcher Award by the SingHealth Duke-NUS Medicine Academic Clinical Programme (ACP). In 2022, she was conferred the SingHealth Publish! Award for her paper titled “Lipoprotein(a) as predictor of coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction in a multi-ethnic Asian population”, published in European Atherosclerosis Society journal, Atherosclerosis.
