Profile

Dr Sheri Lim is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, MBBS, PhD. Her experience in the medical profession spanning nearly two decades includes clinical patient care, research, academia, hospital administration. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK). Having worked for many years in different countries (London, Hong Kong and Singapore), she has experience in the various aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology practice and has performed many deliveries and gynaecological surgeries.

Dr Lim graduated from the Imperial College School of Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, United Kingdom and became a fully registered practitioner of the UK General Medical Council in 2001. She worked in the UK National Health Service for 8 years. She went on to work as a clinical research fellow in Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in London, earning a PhD in Reproductive Medicine in the area of Preterm Labour at the Institute of Reproductive Development and Biology in 2010 and obtained her post graduate qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in the UK in 2011. She then headed to Hong Kong and worked in the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital assisting the leadership with implementing innovative quality health clinical set-ups such as a stem cell laboratory while lecturing at The University of Hong Kong.

Dr Lim returned home to Singapore in 2012 and has since worked in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She has been awarded Outstanding Chief Resident Award from the SingHealth Leadership program and nominated as a SingHealth representative to visit Duke University Hospital for purposes of developing and improving the SingHealth obstetrics and gynaecology residents' programme.

Dr Lim holds teaching appointments in Yong Loo Lin, Lee Kong Chian and Duke-NUS Medical School. She has published in various scientific journals and has presented papers in medical conferences in Singapore and internationally. She was the recipient of First Prize in Singapore Medical Association 2018 Best Research Paper Award on ‘Patient Satisfaction in using Cervical Ripening Balloon as a method for induction of Labour - a randomized controlled trial’ (2017, Singapore Medical Journal).

Dr Lim is passionate about causes relating to women's and children's wellness, and also training and mentoring medical students, family doctors and future specialists. She was part of a team to Ladakh in 2014 bringing life saving education, screening, and treatment opportunities to women, some living in the most remote areas of the Himalayas. Dr Lim finds great delight in spending time with her family and takes joy in the privilege of sharing life’s journey with her patients.
