Profile
Dr Derek Tse is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Singhealth Polyclinics(SHP). He is a Family Physician by training and has attained the professional grade of Senior Consultant.
He also holds the academic appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. Prior to his current leadership appointment, he held many key leadership appointments, including the most recent as Director, Regional Clinical Services, East, following the re-organisation of SHP to align the three regions of SingHealth’s Regional Health System in January 2020. Dr Tse was first appointed to the role of Director, Clinical Services, SHP in April 2019 providing oversight for the entire spectrum of clinical services in SHP. Prior to this, he was the assistant Director, Clinical Integration and Clinical Support, where he has oversight in care transitions, dental as well as allied health services. Dr Tse built a Dental Management team to optimize management of dental services and strategize for future development, and provided strategic directions for allied health services to grow in support of clinical services. He strongly believes in the importance of inter-sectorial collaboration in healthcare to smoothen care transition and has anchored an extensive effort to establish referral and discharge criteria between SHP and hospitals. He has also initiated the link-up with social agencies in the community to facilitate health and social care integration, and set up the Community Health Centres in the rollout of the primary care masterplan version 1 to support GPs with nursing and allied health services. His academic profile includes preceptorship for the Continuity Clinic Module of Duke-NUS Family Medicine Clerkship and membership at the Centralized Institutional Review Board. He is currently the Director (Primary Care) in FM ACP since 2017.
