Specimen Requirement

2X 3mL EDTA blood ( adult ) 10mL plain blood ( adult ) 500uL EDTA blood ( paed ) 1.3 mL plain blood ( paed ) 2-5 mL of aspirate/ sputum swab.

Specimen Storage / Transport

Refrigerate sample until transfer to laboratory.Do not freeze.Send sample at 2 - 8 degree C ( with ice-pack). Sample must reach SGH laboratory within 5 hours after collection.
