Dr Tan Qing Ting is a senior consultant oncoplastic and minimally invasive breast surgeon at the Breast Department of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. She received her fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh after completing specialist surgical training in Singapore General Hospital and KKH. Under the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) awarded by the Ministry of Health, she underwent specialised training in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery at the Nottingham Breast Institute. She spearheaded minimally invasive breast surgery and performed the first endoscopic mastectomy in KKH.
To further her quest for comprehensive care, Dr Tan worked with the Menopause Clinic and Sexual Health Clinic in KKH to introduce bone health and sexual health services for breast cancer patients. She represents KKH in the SingHealth young women with breast cancer group (YoWo).
Dr Tan has published and presented both locally and internationally on various topics in the field of benign and malignant breast diseases. An advocate of public education, she delivers talks in both English and Chinese to raise awareness in breast cancer. Her interests include the management of breast cancer in young women, pregnancy-related breast cancer, granulomatous mastitis and advancement of techniques in breast surgery.
