Dr Agarwal is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Child Development at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. The department offers specialized diagnostic and intervention services for preschool children with developmental or behavioural concerns.
Her area of interest is in developmental screening for children and is currently involved in evaluation, implementation and optimisation of developmental screening tools in community health in Singapore.
She is also keenly interested and involved in the long term follow up of high risk preterm babies. She was heading the hospital’s “Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) High Risk Follow Up programme” till Dec 2014 during which she coordinated that programme and maintained a structured longitudinal database over the last decade which has been invaluable in providing data for the department, hospital and Ministry of Health for purposes of research, Quality Improvement and guidelines for care and counselling.
She was previously working as senior consultant in the Department of Neonatology and was also the appointed Head of Special Care and Level 1 Nursery since January 2006 till Dec 2014.
She is actively involved in perinatal ,VLBW and developmental screening research and has several research projects, presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
