Dr Wong Chui Mae is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician in the Departments of Child Development and Neonatology. She joined the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in 2011, having worked in Paediatrics in the UK for 15 years before that. She was accredited as a Specialist in Paediatric Medicine and Neonatology in 2010 by the General Medical Council, UK. Dr Wong is certified in Bayley and Griffiths Developmental Assessments, as well as the ADOS and ADI-R diagnostic tools for autism.
Dr Wong holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and has sub-specialty research interests in autism spectrum disorder and the effect of screen time and sleep on children. She led the Autism Track Services at KK Hospital from 2013-2025 and has completed various research projects on Autism. She co-chaired the Academy of Medicine, Singapore’s 2023 Clinical Practice Guidelines on Autism in Children and is a member of the Maternal and Child Health Research Institute. Dr Wong has also served on the SingHealth Centralised Institutional Review Board since 2014.
Dr Wong is a member of the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR), Australasian Society for Autism Research (ASFAR), the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore; Section of Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics), the Singapore Paediatric Society, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK), and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK).
