Programme 1
Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Diagnosis Fellowship Programme

Objectives

The Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Diagnosis Fellowship Programme is targeted at obstetricians with an interest in sub-specialising in Fetal Medicine and with prior advanced ultrasound training and accreditation. The programme duration is 12 months and the training syllabus covers the prenatal diagnosis and management of various fetal anomalies, management of monochorionic twin pregnancies and fetal growth restrictions, prenatal invasive procedures and fetal therapy.

  • Report to supervising officer, Dept of Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Briefing of department activities and role in department
  • Orientation tour of hospital facilities
  • Attend all Fetal Medicine Clinics and Birth Defect Clinics (under supervision)
  • Attend all Maternal Fetal Medicine Ward Rounds (under supervision)
  • Attend all Twin Clinics (under supervision)
  • Observe Prenatal Invasive Procedures
  • Observe Prenatal Fetal Therapy

4th to 12th Month
  • Attend Fetal Medicine Clinics and Birth Defect Clinics independently
  • Attend Twin Clinics independently
  • Assist/perform Prenatal Invasive Procedures
  • Assist/perform Prenatal Fetal Therapy
  • Participate in teaching and departmental activities
  • Attend workshops and conferences organized by the department
  • Formulate a research project for publication

End of Fellowship Programme
  • Review of Program and Feedback session
  • Completion of project with submission of publication
  • Preparation of report


For Whom

Foreign/Local Doctors who are interested on a subspecialty career in Fetal Medicine/Prenatal Diagnosis.

Pre-requisite

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria

  • Proficiency in English Language (both spoken and written) is compulsory (TOEFL paperbased test score of 600)
  • Completion of M Med (O&G), MRCOG Exams, MRANZCOG Exams or ACOG Board Exams equivalent
  • Completed Specialist Examination and recognized as O&G specialist in their country of practice
  • Accreditations approved by MOH, SMC and KKH
  • Currently practicing in country of origin

Course Fee

Fees will be determined upon application.

Funding

All funding will be at the applicant’s expense. Arrangement for conference and workshop subsidies can be arranged for applicants during the period of training.

High Risk Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Programme

Objectives

The High Risk Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Programme is targeted at obstetricians with an interest in sub-specialising in perinatal medicine. The programme duration is 6 months and the training syllabus covers High Risk Obstetrics, Obstetric Medicine and Perinatal Medicine.

  • Briefing of department activities and role in department
  • Orientation tour of hospital facilities
  • Attend all Obstetrics High Risk Clinics (under supervision)
  • Attend all Maternal Fetal Medicine Ward Rounds (under supervision)
  • Attend all Obstetric Medical Disorder Clinics (under supervision)
  • Attend all High Risk Consults
  • Attend all Delivery Suite Management Rounds

3rd to 6th Month
  • Attend Obstetrics High Risk Clinics independently
  • Attend Obstetrics Medical Disorder Clinics independently
  • Attend all High Risk Consults
  • Conduct Delivery Suite Management Rounds independently
  • Participate in teaching and departmental activities
  • Attend workshops and conferences organized by the department
  • Formulate a research project for publication
