Who We Are

The Children’s Blood and Cancer Centre (CBCC) at KKH is Singapore’s largest centre caring for children with blood disorders and cancers. Families from across the region come to us for expert treatment and support.

We are more than a hospital unit — CBCC is also a centre for research, training, and community education, working to create a healthier future for every child.

Care for Your Child

At CBCC, your child will be cared for by a whole team of experts who understand the unique needs of young patients. Our team includes paediatric haematologists, oncologists, surgeons, pharmacists, nurses specially trained in children’s cancer care, and allied health professionals who provide emotional, social, and physical support.

Our facilities are designed with children and families in mind:

  • Wards for children undergoing cancer treatment, transplants, or cell therapy
  • A Children’s Day Therapy Unit where outpatient care and procedures are done in a safe, friendly space
  • Special equipment for cell harvesting and advanced therapies
  • A dedicated Oncology Pharmacy
  • A welcoming Family Resource Centre with a Play Room and Teens Room, supported by the Children’s Cancer Foundation

Research and Learning

We are constantly searching for better treatments and cures. CBCC’s researchers work on:

  • Basic science – Understanding how childhood cancers and blood disorders develop
  • Translational research – Developing new tests and therapies
  • Clinical trials – Running clinical trials so children can benefit from promising new treatments earlier

Our labs are located at KKH and SGH, including the Teo Sok Yong and Goh Cheng Liang Childhood Cancer Labs and the Viva Brain and Solid Tumour Lab.

We also train the next generation of doctors, scientists, and healthcare workers — and share knowledge with families and the community — through our Education Office.

Our Focus Areas

CBCC’s work is guided by seven main areas of care and research:

  • Brain tumours
  • Solid tumours
  • Bone marrow transplant and cell therapy
  • Childhood leukaemia and other blood cancers
  • Non-cancerous blood conditions
  • Life after cancer (survivorship)
  • Supportive and palliative care

Behind the scenes, our specialist teams ensure research, clinical trials, education, and family support all work together for every child’s benefit
