1) Sterile wide mouth container - for Urine specimen
2) Dual swab sample kit - for Genital specimens; e.g. cervical, vaginal (refer to image below)

3) Copan flocked swab in sheath without media (red cap) - for eye samples.

Specimen Requirement
​1) Urine (first catch) 10-50 ml.
Patient must not have urinated within the past 1 hour.
 
2) Genital swab
The normal swab is for cleaning purposes and is to be discarded once used.

The flocked swab is for the actual specimen collection and should be sent to the laboratory in the collection tube.

3) Eye Swab

Wipe off excess mucous/pus from site with dry swab. Dispose of swab. Using a dry flocked swab, thoroughly swab the inner surface of the lower, then the upper eyelid.

Specimen Storage/Transport
​Send samples immediately to the laboratory at room temperature after collection or store at 4°C if delay is anticipated.
Fresh urine must reach the laboratory within 24 hours.
