Additional Information

1) Patient is fasted for at least 4hrs
2) An oral dose of xylose (0.5g d(+) xylose per kg body weight) is given as an aqueous solution of 5-10g xylose per 100mL water. Max. dose is 10g xylose.
3) Blood specimens (1.0 mL) are obtained at 0.5, 1 and 2 hrs after the ingestion of xylose.
4) Send all specimens to the laboratory.
