Profile

Dr Lee Jiah Min is a Senior Consultant with 21 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed her MBBS degree in NUS in 2002 and her MRCOG in UK London in 2007. She is an accredited MOH specialist since 2011. She has been doing many laparoscopic surgeries since her residency years. She is an avid obstetrician delivering 30-50 babies each month. She also has a lot of gynecology patients who see her for menstrual problems, pelvic masses or growths, pelvic pain, subfertility and pre conception.

She specialises in Minimally Invasive Surgery and is an advanced level 3 laparoscopist and believes in doing minimally invasive surgery as much as possible for patients so that they have enhanced fast recovery with minimal pain. She is able to deal with large uteruses, fibroids and cysts laparoscopically and cases with difficult adhesions from previous surgeries and endometriosis, releasing pelvic and tubal adhesions and removing endometriosis deposits and adhesions to reduce pain and optimise fertility She is a very careful surgeon with minimal complications.

She had brought in the idea of laparoscopic contained bag morcellation to KKH for uterine fibroids to prevent spread of potential malignancy so that laparoscopic myomectomy could still be possible for patients without open surgery.

Going one step further she has brought in the technique of VNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transendoluminal surgery) approach to hysterectomy avoiding the need for laparoscopic incisions thereby resulting in almost painless and scarless surgery. VNOTES surgery is able to go beyond the normal reach of vaginal hysterectomy due to the visbility and longer reach of laparoscopic instruments used from the vaginal approach.

Dr Lee also does hysteroscopic removal of submucous fibroids, polyps and synechiae, treating heavy menstrual bleeding and enhancing fertility with a scarless approach with minimal pain. She has completed her HMDP training in complex pelvic laparoscopic surgery (including benign and oncologic surgeries) in Taiwan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 2013 under Prof Lee Chyi Loong. Dr Lee Jiah Min also does colposcopy and treatment (LEEP and laser) of pre invasive conditions of the cervix and pap smear and HPV abnormalities. She has been an accredited and practicing colposcopist since 2012.

Dr Lee Jiah Min is a doctor who cares for her patients and is very friendly and approachable. She always ensures their well being and is detailed in her consultations, surgeries and deliveries. She has won the Singhealth Quality ServiceSTAR award for year 2022, and GOLD award for 2021, silver award for 2020, STAR award for 2015, GOLD award for 2014 and Silver award for 2013. She has also won the Service from the heart award in KKH from 2009-2022. She has won the long service award in 2015.
