New SingHealth Duke-NUS Genomic Medicine Centre launched
A new centre for genomic medicine was launched by Mr Edwin Tong, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Health, at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) Scientific Meeting today. The SingHealth Duke-NUS Genomic Medicine Centre (SDGMC) will provide highly-specialised genetics care and facilitate genomics research and education across all SingHealth institutes, with the ultimate aim of advancing care for patients and families with genetic diseases.

KKH Celebrates 25 Years of Healthy Breastfed Babies with the community during World Breastfeeding Week
KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH), Singapore's largest and leading maternity hospital, accredited under the World Health Organization-led Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), has been organising the Healthy Breastfed Baby Contest during the World Breastfeeding Week since 1995 as part of its continued efforts in promoting and encouraging breastfeeding in Singapore.
More than 2,300 children and parents helped under the Stay Prepared - Trauma Network for Children
More than 2,300 children affected by various forms of trauma and their parents have been provided with therapy and psychological support through programmes under the Stay Prepared - Trauma Network for Children. The programmes have also built the capability of the community by training close to 1,050 therapists, school counsellors and social workers to deliver the appropriate support and intervention for these children. Another 40,000 people have participated in outreach efforts to create awareness of trauma in young children – its impact, and how, when and where to seek help.
More than 600 Premature and Sick Infants Benefitted from Singapore’s First Donor Human Milk Bank in First Year
Within a year of its launch, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) has recruited more than 400 donors to donate their breast milk under the Temasek Foundation Cares Donor Human Milk Bank Programme, exceeding the numbers envisaged.
