Dr Daniel Chan graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, in 2012. He underwent Paediatric Residency training in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Singapore General Hospital. During his Paediatric Residency, he served as the Chief Resident from 2019-2020.
As a paediatric endocrinologist, his special interests include hypothalamo–pituitary disorders, both congenital and acquired, and neonatal endocrinology, with a focus on optimising early-life hormonal and metabolic health to improve long-term cardiometabolic outcomes. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Award in 2024 and completed a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, United Kingdom.
He aims to drive clinical and research collaborations in maternal and child health, bridging neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics. Additionally, he maintains a deep commitment to medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, mentoring medical students, junior residents, and senior residents.
Research Interests: Hypothalamo-pituitary disorders, neonatal endocrinology, hyperinsulinism, population health.
