About Doctor

Clin Assoc Prof Joyce Lam Ching Mei Lam is Head of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Senior Consultant in Paediatric Haematology / Oncology and at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). She oversees clinical and quality governance of the Haematology Laboratory, Blood Bank and Cell Processing Laboratory, ensuring service excellence, regulatory compliance and patient safety across diagnostic haematology, transfusion medicine and cellular therapy operations. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of paediatric benign and malignant haematological conditions, with particular expertise in congenital bleeding disorders, paediatric thrombosis and anticoagulation management. She is actively involved in national and regional committees that advance standards of transfusion practice, haemophilia care and laboratory medicine.

A dedicated educator, she holds academic appointments with Duke‑NUS Medical School, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, where she contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate training. She has led multiple institutional and national quality‑improvement initiatives, and her research spans haemophilia, paediatric thrombosis, transfusion safety, thalassaemia, cellular therapy and paediatric oncology. She has received multiple awards for clinical service, teaching excellence and quality improvement.
