Adj Assoc Prof Ng Yong Hong is a paediatric kidney disease specialist and Senior Consultant with the Nephrology Service, Department of Paediatrics. She completed her training in Paediatric Medicine in 2007 and Paediatric Nephrology in 2008 with fellowship training at the Department of Nephrology, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. She is passionate about medical education and is a member of the Residency Advisory Committee for Paediatric Medicine and Subspecialty Training Committee for Paediatric Nephrology. Her research interests are in hypertension, nephritis and urinary tract infection.
She currently serves as Co-Director (Paediatrics), Office of Population Health and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for KKH and has a keen interest in advancing preventive health through population health initiatives and in quality improvement and risk management.
In her past roles as Head, Department of Paediatrics (2015-2022) and Nephrology Service (2013-2024) as well as Deputy Chair, Division of Medicine (2018-2023), Academic Vice-Chair (Clinical), Paediatrics Academic Clinical Program (2017-2023), Yong Hong was involved in establishing the strategic development of the Nephrology Service and Department of Paediatrics, in leading the key operational aspects during the COVID-19 pandemic for paediatric services for Department of Paediatrics and consolidating the clinical quality initiatives with faculty within the Division of Medicine.
