About

Dr Terrence Thomas is the Head of Neurology Service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. He graduated from University Sains Malaysia in 1996 and spent his early years of medical service in East Malaysia. He completed formal training in General Paediatrics in Sabah and Penang in Malaysia from 1998-2003, during which he attained postgraduate certifications from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom) and a Master’s Degree in Paediatric Medicine from the National University of Singapore (both in 2001). Upon exit certification in General Paediatrics (2003), Dr Thomas underwent full-time training in Paediatric Neurology from 2003 to 2007, at busy Children’s Hospitals in Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Upon returning to Malaysia, Dr Thomas helped to establish the paediatric neurology and neurophysiology services at the new Sabah Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Kota Kinabalu (2007-2011), prior to moving to his current position at KK Hospital in Singapore. He has held a strong focus to medical education, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes throughout his career. He enjoys clinical and research work in Neuroimmunology, and thinks there is a story to tell about the unique spectrum of immune-related neurological disorders amongst children living in South East Asia.
