Plain Blood
Adult: 5 mL
Paediatric: 1.3 mL

Invert blood 5 times after blood collection ensures the clot-activating factors is well mixed with the blood. This will ensure results are reliable.

Specimen Storage/Transport

Instruction for external hospitals/laboratories:
Serum should be separated from blood cells immediately.
IGF-1 is stable for up to 24 hours at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, or for 12 months at -20 degrees Celsius.
