Specimen Container	Transport Medium
Specimen Requirement	Throat swab, sputum, endotracheal tube aspirate, preferrably nasopharyngeal aspirate (NPA) or bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), and biopsy. Require transport media. Refrigerate samples until transport to Lab. DO NOT FREEZE.
Specimen Storage/Transport	Refrigerate sample at 2-8^oC until transfer to laboratory. Do not freeze sample. Send Smaples on ice pack to laboratory.

Turn Around Time	Positive report: 1 - 7 days Negative report : 21 days For enterovirus - final report with enterovirus typing results 4 - 8 weeks.
