The Paediatric Endocrinology Service cares for children with hormone related concerns or conditions.  Our paediatric endocrinologists will care for your child in a setting that is age-appropriate, along with nurses, educators and nutritionists who are attuned to their special needs.


Children with disorders of metabolism

  • Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Impaired glucose tolerance
  • Impaired fasting glucose
  • Hyperglycemia
  • Morbid obesity <5y old
  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Hypoglycemia


Children with thyroid disorders

  • Congenital hypothyroidism
  • Neonatal hyperthyroidism

  • Autoimmune hypothyroidism
  • Acquired hyperthyroidism
  • Autoimmune hyperthyroidism
  • Goiter and/or thyroid nodule


Children with abnormal puberty

  • Precocious puberty/thelarche in girls
