Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is also known as key-hole or laparoscopic surgery.

Laparoscopic surgery involves the surgeon performing surgery with small incisions made in the abdomen. The surgeon will visualise the pelvic organs using a thin fibre optic tube. This surgical technique is good for patients as there is less complications when compared to open surgery. Patients benefit from good cosmesis and less post-operative pain. Furthermore, hospital stay and recovery time is shortened.
